Mopar Exterior Gray Dip Tank Primer Paint
(Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth)
The entire bare steel car body was dunked in a huge vat, up to the level of the headlight and tail light area (not true for winged cars). Because the body was dipped, the grey dip tank primer will show up as a definite paint line on the insides of the fenders, doors, and quarters. A fine restoration will show this. The dip tank primer was washed off the outer body, before the primer was baked on.
The mixture of dip primer varied every day, as new paint was dumped into the vat. Therefore, we have made our paint the color that was by far the most common one used.
This Dip Tank Dark Gray-Blue "Primer" is in fact not a "primer" at all. It is a top quality enamel, with a catalyst. It will result in the underside and inner areas of your car looking correct, and it is very durable.
Includes one pint catalyst (hardener). One quart is enough for a car. Aerosol spray can.
