Alternator Gauge Post Insulators
(A-B-C-E-body Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge)
All cars that originally used "outside" brown, round fiber insulators will likely need new fiber insulators. The originals are so old that they are usually cracked. Most instrument cluster alternator gauges originally used only a rectangular black fiber insulator. These are often badly burned. New ones are in development. For safety, use our auxiliary insulators, AND the original rectangular black fiber insulators.
● 1968-1970 B body rallye instrument cluster alternator gauges use an inner and an outer black fiber, rectangular-shaped insulator. These are often severely cracked and/or burned. Your cluster housing itself may be burned.
Our round, inner post insulators do NOT replace the original rectangular insulators. Ours only HELP PREVENT gauge metal post contact to the cluster housing.
Our insulators are simple, correctly-sized, tough fibers that fit just right.
● 1970-1974 E-body cars (Barracuda/Cuda and Challenger) standard and rallye, have cluster housings with square holes for the alternator gauge mounting posts. Our square, outer post insulators protect against a common, serious problem: metal post contact with cluster housing.
Our square fiber insulators are tough, and fit into the square hole and over the post just right. The original black fiber outer AND inner rectangular insulators MUST STILL BE USED, and must not be burned or broken.
